Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

The VITA program offers free tax preparation for low-to-moderate-income individuals and families, or small businesses (annual income up to $49,000) who want help preparing their tax return.  Volunteers who have received training to help prepare basic tax returns and who have passed an IRS certification examination will be available by appointment at the Belgrade Community Library on March 7, 8 & 9, and again April 12 & 13.  Individuals taking advantage of the e-file program receive their refunds in half the time compared to returns filed on paper, and even faster if they have their refund deposited directly into a bank account.  For more information and to schedule an appointment, call the library at 388-4346.
