In honor of Teen Read Week, Belgrade students in grades 7-12 are invited to submit an original, spooky story to Belgrade Community Library’s first creative writing contest. Prizes include Barnes & Noble gift cards and 6 pounds of gummy bears! Winners will be announced at an award ceremony at the library on October 18 at 6:30 p.m.
Awards will be immediately followed by a special performance from Ellen Baumler, author and interpretive historian from the Montana Historical Society. Her presentation “Casting Shadows: Spooks, Specters, and Spirited Places” recounts the spooky stories from Montana history, including “ghostly encounters and things that go bump in the Big Sky night.”
All entries must be received by October 04, 2012 to qualify.
