In fall 2012, Belgrade Community Library unveiled its new Play Space. Complete with blocks, play people, cars, and other educational toys, the Play Space encourages children and parents to engage in essential literacy building activities. Beginning January 18, the Belgrade Community Library will offer Stay & Play every Friday morning after preschool storytime, 11:35 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Children and parents are invited to participate in fun, educational activities which will be supervised by volunteers from the high school, community members, and the children’s librarian. Activities will vary week to week but will include block play, hopscotch, puzzles, number games, coloring, and more.
