Programs

Programs

Belgrade Community Library offers programs of interest to children and adults. Attendance at all programs is free and open to the public.

For the exact dates and times of all library programs, please see the Library Calendar for details.

Programs are conducted by Library staff and by talented volunteers from the community. If your organization wishes to sponsor a program, please contact the Library Director, Gale Bacon.

Regular and On-Going Programs

Art Displays — The Belgrade Library uses the open space on the walls in both the main library and the children’s room to display the works of local artists. The displays generally change every two months.

Children’s Programs

Babies & Books - Bring your little one, ages birth to 36 months. Songs, rhymes, and finger plays.  Each story time is followed by active play time and socialization. Babies & Books meets Thursdays at 11:15 a.m., January – November. 

Preschool StorytimeJoin Mrs. Rebekah and Miss Susie for some Friday morning fun! Ages 3-6 will enjoy stories, songs, puppets, crafts, and more on Fridays at 11:05 a.m. Younger siblings are always welcome too. Preschool Storytime takes place September – May

Stay & PlayChildren and parents are invited to participate in fun, educational activities which will be supervised by Mrs. Rebekah, Belgrade’s children’s librarian. Activities will vary week to week but will include block play, hopscotch, puzzles, science, crafts, and more. Immediately following Preschool Storytime, Fridays 11:45-12:15.

R.E.A.D. to A DogR.E.A.D. to A Dog is the first, third, and fifth Saturdays of the month at 12:00. Young readers and their families are welcome to come and join the Reading Education Assistance Dog team.

Stories to GrowStories to Grow is a volunteer-based outreach program from the Belgrade Community Library that delivers story times to children in the community that have limited access to the library. Trained volunteers visit licensed daycare centers and preschools once a month from October through April to deliver storytimes.

Summer Reading Program – Children in grades K-5 are invited to complete a reading log to earn prizes. The library will also host a range of fun, family events. Theme changes annually.

Game OnKeep Calm and Game on. Every early release day join us at the Belgrade Community Library for board games, Wii, Minecraft, and snacks. 1:30-3:00 p.m.

LEGO Club LEGO Club meets on the 4th Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m. Children in grades K-6 are invited to attend.  Children will be given an hour to create based on a monthly theme or free build.

Young Adult Programs

Teen Book Club - Teens grades 6-12, come talk books and make stuff on the 4th Thursday of every month at 4:00 p.m. Theme changes monthly. Pizza provided by Stageline Pizza.

Write Stuff - All middle school and high school students are welcome to join the library’s creative writing group, Write Stuff.  Meetings  take place on the 1st Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. 

Summer Reading Program - Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in the teen summer reading program. Teens can submit book reviews online for a chance at winning a fun prize, and the best written review will receive the “Librarian’s Choice” award.  The summer will also include a full schedule of fun activities. Theme changes annually.

Adult Programs

4th Thursday Book Club - Book discussion, opinion sharing, refreshments, and lots of fun! The 4th Thursday of the Month Book Club meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. upstairs in the library’s community room. 

Mystery Readers’ Book Club - Book discussion, opinion sharing, refreshments, and lots of fun! The Mystery Readers’ Book Club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. upstairs in the library’s community room. 

Book-A-Tech – Schedule a free, one-on-one appointment with a technology librarian. Receive help downloading ebooks, submitting online job applications, composing emails, typing resumes, searching online databases, and using mobile apps. Other technology training can be arranged.
