Learn Local: Handweaving

Learn about how a Montanan Mary Meigs Atwater impacted thousands of people in Montana and across the US. Mary was a one-woman powerhouse. Learn how she helped to conquer the wild west and brought handweaving back from the brink of extinction. After hearing about Mary’s exploits, try your hand a weaving on a simple loom you can make at home. Be sure to reserve your loom with an RSVP at 388-4346 so we know how many looms to bring! Learn Local programs are sponsored by the Bozeman Area Community Foundation.

Elizabeth Tritthart is a member of the board of Directors for Handweavers Guild of America, Inc, she has been weaving and researching weaving history since her arrival in Montana in 1991.
