Policies

You may checkout downloadable ebooks and audiobooks if you have a current Belgrade Community Library card in good standing. Each patron is limited to 5 checkouts at any one time. You have the option to checkout an item for 7 or 14 days. If an item you want is checked out, you may place it on hold (you will be prompted to enter an email address, and you will be notified via email when the item becomes available).

The Belgrade Community Library once again invites children to participate in the library’s summer reading program. Beginning in June, local children of all ages can track their reading to earn fun incentives. Families can also join our children’s librarian and several guest presenters for a slate of fun afternoon programs. From magicians to dinosaurs, this summer will encourage your child to “Dig into Reading.” Please check back in May for a complete calendar of events.

For the first time, the Library will also offer a teen summer reading program. The program theme is Beneath the Surface, and it is targeted at Gallatin County residents between grades 7 and 12. Teens will be encouraged to submit short book reviews online for a chance at winning some great prizes, including an iPad. Read more about the program on the Beneath the Surface post!

Children and adults are invited to participate in the library’s first summer drama club. Novice and experienced actors will meet two hours every Tuesday beginning June 18. Participants will refine their acting skills through regular rehearsals, culminating in a performance for the public on August 6.

The club’s leader, Kristin Godak,  brings years of experience in the performing arts. She performed in college as a member of the Michigan State University Repertory Dance Company, and as an actress in various plays and musicals.  She also worked on set, light, and costume crews while pursuing a degree in Theatre.  She graduated from Michigan State in 1995, after which she became a director and choreographer for high schools and middle schools.  Kristin currently teaches English at Belgrade High School, where she coaches competitive Speech and Drama.  This year, the drama team won the Class A State Championship.

When: Tuesdays, June 18 – August 6, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Who: Children (second grade +) through adult—parent/child teams are especially encouraged to sign up!

Attendance at rehearsals is required.

Have fun creating a handmade paper scroll that you can hang on the wall when completed. We will create a free form design using mixed media that anyone can do!  Wendy will guide you as we play with watercolors, collage, stencils, splattering, bubble wrap and more! Pizza will be provided! All art materials are included.

We now have a folder with up-to-date, local job listings.  If you come to the library to work on your job search, you may request an extended session on one of our eleven public access computers or use our free WiFi connection. Each workstation offers access to the internet and word processing software. From our computers, you can create an online account to search the Montana Job Service website, submit applications, and create resumes.  We also offer color printing, faxes, and test proctoring.

Children and parents are invited to participate in fun, educational activities which will be supervised by volunteers from the high school, community members, and the children’s librarian. Activities will vary week to week but will include block play, hopscotch, puzzles, number games, coloring, and more.

Belgrade Community Library celebrates National Library Week on Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m. with the Bozeman Symphony’s Flutes & Friends.

Five professional flutists (and friends) perform on many instruments of the flute family including the concert flute, piccolo, alto flute, and base flute.  A community outreach of the Bozeman Symphony, Far Afield ensembles present free performances of live music in communities around Montana.
