Searching for an Item: Click on the Home/Search button in the blue menu bar. In the Search For box, type in author, title, subject, word, or phrase. Click on the corresponding blue button below. This will result in a list of possible titles.
Browse Searching: To produce an alphabetical list of titles, authors, subjects, etc., first click on the “Advanced Search” link located at the bottom of the Search box. Click on “Browse Catalog” on the right side of the screen. Enter your search term in the “Browse On” box and click one of the dark blue buttons below to perform the type of search you wish to do.
Finding The Call Number: If your search has been successful , you will get a list of possible items, usually in chronological order. (If you get a result indicating “found no matches,” click “go back” and try a different search term. Call the library or ask a librarian for further assistance.) Click on the red “Full Details” box to the left of the entry. The Call Number will be displayed in red.
Going Back: To move back to a previous screen, click the “Go Back” link near the top left-hand side of the screen. To start a new search, click “New Search” in the blue menu bar.

Access Your “My Library” Account
You can check your account, renew your items, and place holds from any internet connection. Simply go here then follow these easy steps:
Click on “Login to My Library Account” on the dark blue toolbar.
Enter your complete library barcode number in the Card # box (without spaces).
In the “PIN” box, enter the default PIN “changeme” (without spaces). Then click “login”.
Click “My Library Account” in the blue menu bar.
Once in your account, you can change the default pin for your account. See “User PIN Change”
Review My Account: This will bring up a list of everything you currently have checked out and their due dates
Renew My Materials: To renew an item, click on the box next to the title, then click on the light blue bar that says “Renew Selected Items.” A new screen will display the new due date, or specify that an item cannot be renewed (and why.) Click “Ok” to continue.
User PIN Change: This will prompt you to enter your new PIN number, then re-enter it and click on “Change
PIN.”
Change My Address: Fill in each box with your new information, then click “Send”
Place Your Own Hold: Conduct a search and click on Full Details of the item you wish to place on hold. Then follow these easy steps:
Click on the “Place Hold” link on the left.
Fill in your Barcode Number and PIN. If you are already logged in to the card catalog you can skip this step.
Click on the “Place Hold” button.
Click on the blue “OK” button
You can have Hold and Due Date reminders automatically sent directly to your email! Reminders are sent from Montana_Shared_Catalog@mt.gov
Please note that the email may come in to your junk mail box, so if you can’t find it, please look there.
